Wheat is the major staple food crop in Pakistan and cultivated on the largest acreages. it constitutes 60% of the daily diet of common man in Pakistan with per capital consumption of about 125 kg it occupies a central position in agricultural policies. Wheat contributions in agricultural & country GDP are impressive. Wheat is a major ingredient in foods such as bread, porridge, crackers, biscuits, Muesli, pancakes, pies, pastries, cakes, cookies, muffins, rolls, doughnuts, gravy, boza (a fermented beverage), and breakfast cereals (e.g., Wheaten, Cream of Wheat, Shredded Wheat, and Wheaties). If the raw wheat is broken into parts at the mill, as is usually done, the outer husk or bran can be used several ways.
